Public Warning: Understanding the Risks of Vaping

In the 2024 season of Love Island, several contestants were identified as smokers or vapers. Notably, Jess White and Sean Stone were observed taking breaks to vape during their time on the show. Additionally, Patsy Field and Omar Nyame were mentioned as smokers. Patsy expressed concerns about "fag breath" when interacting with fellow Islander Munveer Jabbal, who is known for his cleanliness. She also recounted an evening where she smoked two cigarettes in quick succession, leading to a mishap with her footwear.

Since 2018, Love Island has enforced strict regulations regarding smoking and vaping to discourage these habits among viewers. Contestants are prohibited from smoking or vaping within the villa and must use designated areas outside the front door. Only one Islander is permitted to smoke or vape at a time, and conversations during these breaks are not allowed to prevent off-camera discussions. Each contestant has a personal box containing their smoking or vaping materials, and the duration of these breaks is limited.

These measures aim to reduce the visibility of smoking and vaping on the show, aligning with public health recommendations and audience expectations.
